Snapchat Launches Creator Subscription Service for U.S. Users
Snapchat has unveiled a new alpha feature allowing selected users in the U.S. to subscribe to their favorite creators, effective February 23. This initiative offers users access to exclusive content from prominent creators such as Jeremiah Brown, Harry Jowsey, and Skai Jackson, while creating fresh revenue streams for these influencers.
The subscription model permits creators to set their own monthly pricing, with Snap providing tier recommendations. Subscribers will benefit from exclusive content, priority responses to public Stories, and an ad-free experience for the creator’s Stories.
This launch marks an evolution in Snapchat’s existing monetization strategies, which include the Unified Monetization Program and Snap Star Collab Studio. “Creator Subscriptions introduce a premium connection for Snapchatters to engage with creators through Stories, Chat, and replies,” the company explained in a recent blog post.
According to Snapchat’s Q4 2025 report, the platform boasts 946 million daily active users, with a notable 47% increase in U.S. users contributing to Spotlight year-over-year. Additionally, the previous month, Snapchat restructured its hardware division into a new entity called Specs.
Looking ahead, Snapchat plans to extend its subscription service to Snap Stars in Canada, the U.K., and France shortly.
In contrast, Meta has already implemented similar subscription options for creators on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, offering followers access to unique content and special badges.
