Pickle Robot Appoints Tesla Alum as Its First CFO

Pickle Robot Welcomes Tesla Veteran Jeff Evanson as First CFO Amid UPS Partnership Expansion

Pickle Robot, renowned for its innovative autonomous unloading robots designed for warehouses and distribution centers, has appointed Jeff Evanson as its inaugural chief financial officer. This announcement comes shortly after reports of a significant partnership deal with UPS.

Based in Charlestown, Massachusetts, Pickle Robot officially unveiled Evanson’s appointment on Thursday. He transitioned from a consulting role with the company, which he assumed in September, to a full-time CFO position.

Evanson boasts an impressive background, having served as the vice president of global investor relations and strategy at Tesla from 2011 to 2017. During his tenure, he collaborated closely with CEO Elon Musk, playing a crucial role in securing debt and equity financing essential for the launch of various Tesla vehicle lines and for strategic acquisitions.

In his new role, Evanson will guide Pickle through a pivotal phase as the company, founded in 2018 and backed by approximately $100 million in venture capital, appears to be fortifying its relationship with UPS. Bloomberg reports that UPS is investing $120 million to acquire 400 of Pickle’s robots, with plans for deployment set to commence in late 2026 and early 2027.

While Pickle did not provide specific comments regarding the UPS agreement, a spokesperson confirmed the shipping giant has been a customer for several years, though details about the initial partnership were not disclosed.
