Nexos AI Secures €30M Round to Accelerate Enterprise AI Integration in Europe
Nexos AI, a promising startup focused on secure enterprise AI adoption, has successfully completed a €30 million Series A funding round, approximately $35 million. This investment follows an earlier $8 million round led by Index Ventures and highlights the urgency for businesses to harness AI tools without compromising data security. Co-founders Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, also known for their successful venture Nord Security, aim to bridge the gap between employees and AI systems.
### The Need for Secure AI Solutions
Okmanas expressed concerns over a potential “corporate data leak,” as employees increasingly share sensitive information with large language models (LLMs). Rather than restricting AI use, Nexos AI positions itself as a “Switzerland for LLMs,” providing a secure intermediary solution. This unique approach enhances productivity while ensuring that data integrity is maintained.
### Strong Backing from Investors
This latest round values Nexos AI at approximately €300 million ($350 million), with contributions from notable investors including Evantic Capital, along with continued support from previous backers such as Creandum and Dig Ventures. The new funding’s timing is critical, with Okmanas acknowledging that Evantic’s insistence on investing played a significant role despite Nexos AI not formally seeking additional capital.
### Innovative Product Offering
Currently, Nexos AI’s platform features an AI Workspace for employees and an AI Gateway for developers. The Gateway serves as a crucial control layer, ensuring compliance and security while managing costs effectively. With access to over 200 AI models, Nexos AI plans to enhance its offerings, especially for private models handling sensitive data.
### Targeting Tech-Savvy and Regulated Sectors
Nexos AI is initially targeting tech-forward companies and those in highly regulated industries that prioritize governance and data protection. With around 50 to 60 demo calls weekly, the firm intends to simplify the deployment of AI in traditional businesses, helping them navigate internal discussions around AI adoption.
### Expansion and Future Goals
The recent funding will facilitate Nexos AI’s expansion into European and North American markets, addressing the growing demand for secure AI governance. Okmanas believes that by removing roadblocks to AI adoption, businesses can harness significant benefits, citing success stories from their portfolio companies, such as Hostinger, where AI integration led to substantial cost savings. Although not disclosing specific revenue figures, Okmanas indicated plans to expand the team significantly, aiming for 100 employees by the company’s first anniversary.
Through this strategic funding and innovative model, Nexos AI stands poised to transform how enterprises approach AI deployment, setting a new standard for security and efficiency in the industry.
