Google Launches Budget-Friendly AI Plus Plan Globally, U.S. Included

Google has unveiled its cost-effective Google AI Plus plan, now accessible worldwide, including in the United States for just $7.99 per month. This expansion introduces the budget-friendly option to 35 additional countries following its initial rollout in select global markets, starting with Indonesia last September.

With this subscription, users gain access to advanced tools such as Gemini 3 Pro, Nano Banana Pro within the Gemini app, Flow’s AI filmmaking features, and research assistance via NotebookLM. Subscribers also benefit from 200GB of storage along with the option to share plan perks with up to five family members.

Current Google One Premium 2TB users will automatically unlock Google AI Plus benefits within the coming days, according to the company.

Targeted at emerging markets, the Google AI Plus plan serves as a bridge for users transitioning from free access to premium AI resources, particularly benefiting those who may find the standard Google AI Pro plan—priced at $20 per month—too costly. While prices vary globally, this $8/month option is anticipated to attract a more casual audience to Google’s AI offerings, with many regions, such as India, seeing costs as low as ₹399 (approximately $4.44).

Originally aimed at expanding AI usage in developing markets, the plan also seeks to rival OpenAI’s ChatGPT Go plan, which shares a similar price point in the U.S. These offerings are designed to engage a burgeoning audience, potentially fostering long-term AI users and enhancing industry adoption rates.

Subscribers can take advantage of a promotional offer, receiving a 50% discount for the first two months of their Google AI Plus subscription.
