AMD Unveils Cutting-Edge AI Processors for Gaming and Everyday Use at CES 2026
In a groundbreaking keynote at CES 2026, AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su heralded a new era of computing, emphasizing that the future lies in “AI for everyone.” The tech giant introduced its latest lineup of AI processors, the AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series, designed to optimize performance for both gaming enthusiasts and general users.
During the conference, AMD showcased the immense capabilities of the Ryzen AI 400 Series, claiming that these processors deliver 1.3 times faster multitasking and are 1.7 times quicker for content creation compared to rival offerings. Featuring 12 CPU cores and 24 threads, each processor is engineered to handle multiple tasks with unparalleled efficiency.
This new series succeeds the Ryzen AI 300 Series, first launched in 2024, and marks AMD’s ongoing evolution in the AI-driven computing landscape that began with its Ryzen line in 2017. Rahul Tikoo, Senior Vice President and General Manager of AMD’s Client Business, noted that the company now supports over 250 AI PC platforms—an impressive doubling in just one year.
“In the years ahead,” Tikoo remarked, “AI will weave a multi-layered fabric into every aspect of personal computing. Our AI PCs and devices will revolutionize how we work, play, create, and connect.”
Additionally, AMD revealed the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, a robust processor designed for gaming that enhances user experience across the board. “AI is reshaping everyday computing. Throughout daily interactions with your PC, AI helps understand context, automate tasks, and offer personalization,” Tikoo stated.
Devices equipped with the Ryzen AI 400 Series and Ryzen 7 9850X3D processors are expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2026. Enhancements were also made to AMD’s advanced Redstone ray tracing technology, which significantly improves video game graphics without compromising performance.
