Google is introducing an experimental email productivity assistant named CC as part of its Google Labs initiative. Designed to enhance user efficiency, CC leverages the power of Gemini to synthesize information from various Google services, including Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar.
Through its “Your Day Ahead” feature, CC compiles a daily email that outlines upcoming tasks, summarizes calendar events, and highlights important updates. This integration aims to streamline users’ workflows, making essential information easily accessible directly from their inboxes.
Users can interact with CC by replying to the assistant or emailing it. This functionality allows individuals to add tasks, customize preferences, store notes, or search for specific information at any time.
Currently, CC is available to AI Pro and Ultra users in the U.S. and Canada, limited to individuals aged 18 and over. It is essential to note that at this stage, the assistant is compatible exclusively with consumer Google accounts, excluding Workspace users.
Several AI-driven email assistants exist in the market, such as Mindy, which began as an email assistant within the creator and marketing domains. Other tools like Read AI and Fireflies provide users with daily summaries, though they don’t typically encompass data from email and Drive. Meanwhile, Huxe, developed by former Google NotebookLM creators, offers users a unique audio brief delivered in podcast format from their emails, calendars, and news subscriptions.
